Where in the U.S. Are You Most Likely to Be Audited by the IRS?
Humphreys County, Mississippi, seems like an odd place for the IRS to go hunting for tax cheats. It’s a rural county in the Mississippi Delta known for its catfish farms, and more than a third of its mostly African American residents are below the poverty line. But according to a new study, it is the most heavily audited county in America.

The Cathedral weighs in:

What a pivot from hunting billionaires!
Bait and switch complete, they aren’t hiding being enemies of the poor now
This was always what was going to happen with a massive expansion. The “rich” are the low hanging fruit. That’s where the current IRS already spends the lions share of its time because that’s where you get the bang for your buck. The argument for expansion is that there’s a massive swath of the population they simply don’t pay attention to and they count a percentage as lost revenue. I know a many, many farmers they would absolutely fuck up. Old couples who do cash business on restoring tractors and cars. They will absolutely roast these people if they get a hold of them.“They are not above the law” is such a blatantly authoritarian thing to declare, also. This is like hunting someone down for jaywalking or littering years after the fact because they finally hired enough goons to comb through every second of surveillance footage to find any and all instances of “law breaking”. Or what if the police granted themselves access to all of your GPS data over the last decade and issued you a ticket for every single time they found you exceeding the speed limit? You are not above the law, right?
And all the auditing nonsense is based on the idea that they will have enough time and resources to actually pin down enough wrong doing to allow for warrants, subpoenas, lawyers to be hired, etc… and for what? Maybe a few thousand in back taxes. Maybe they issue some fines. They’re still paying billions to collect millions per year, primarily from poor people who have been financially screwed by inflation and gas prices for the past year, so they won’t have any money anyways.
They’ve gone from sabotaging the global economy to staging a controlled demolition.
It’s not about raising revenue. It’s about oppression and suppression of people they don’t like.

We live under absolute tyrants.
IRS AGENTS are now fair game. They are Robbers with a meaningless badge. Remember that. They have power because YOU give it. The Indonesians learned that when they burnt their presidents house down. They are just people not gods and they can be removed.
Said it yesterday, there’s a whole class of people who have no idea what’s coming.
Moronic rank and file leftists and dem apologists have no idea either. I blame their partisanship and ignorance mostly. They either really believe or delude themselves into thinking this will target the “evil rich”.
Who the fuck do they think the IRS is always targeting?
The IRS operates on a scale, it goes to where the money is. It goes to the economic strata where it can extract efficiently. The problem as they’ve identified it is there’s a massive chunk of taxpayers they ignore because they aren’t worth mining relative to the big fish with the limited resources they had at their disposal.
In my post yesterday I mentioned an old farming couple I know which will be the target of this expansion. There’s a multitude of people exactly like them across the country.
The man is in his mid-70s with a 5th grade education. When he quit school he went to work for Sears putting up fencing, after that he drove a garbage truck for a while before signing on at GE. His wife had a successful insurance business she’d sold. They have a hundred and ten acres where he raises cattle. He’s mechanically inclined and to supplement their income he buys, repairs and sells tractors and old cars out of one of their barns. It’s a “side of the road” and eBay business but they do well by it. Per my understanding it’s all cash.
Their net worth is over a million with the farm, cattle and equipment they’ve managed to procure.
These are the people the IRS is gearing up to scrutinize and rape. This is the untapped “revenue” stream.
